HSR Maize more than stacks up against independently reported market averages.

Hill News, an independent Hill Laboratories publication, published market averages for maize silage quality and data that looked at dry matter (DM), crude protein, starch, neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and metabolisable energy (ME).

The table below summarises these Hill Lab market averages (independently published), in comparison with HSR Maize averages from our field trial work. All forage tests for the HSR Maize trials were also carried out by Hill Laboratories.

HSR Maize more than stacks up against independently reported market averages.

A strength of HSR Maize is the significant cob size, this provides the potential to produce high levels of starch, resulting in excellent ME per hectare. An increase in ME/ ha results in a much more cost effective feed that will provide higher returns when multiplied over the total hectares grown. Planting at populations suitable to plant type and conditions can greatly influence yield and nutritional values. Get this advice from your HSR representative.
