Dried Distiller Grains
Corn Dried Distiller Grains with Solubles is the main by-product of the distillation of alcohol and industrial ethanol from maize grain. Corn Dried Distiller Grains are golden in colour.
Feeding Recommendations
As a rule, a maximum of 30% (diet DM) dried distiller grains should be included in the ration.
DDGS is ideal for increasing the palatability of feed blends, especially when minerals are included.
Increase inclusion rate when protein is limiting production.
Note: Consult your milk supply company for FEI guidelines

Nutritional Benefits
Corn DDGS is rich in protein and moderately rich in fat. One benefit of Corn DDGS over cereal grains is that, as their energy is primarily provided as readily digestible fibre and fat, they have a propensity to alleviate incidence and severity of acidosis, and fatty liver caused by rumen starch fermentation.

Cattle Feed Storage on Farm
As with any grain or meal feed products need to be kept dry as moisture combined with heat can cause fungi to grow. Common on farm storage methods are: in a shed or unused fertiliser bin; in a covered pit; on a concrete pad; or in a cutting, covered with plastic sheet and tyres. Most feed should be used reasonably expediently (within 40 - 50 days). The longer you plan to store feed products the better your storage facilities need to be.
