Base Feeds

Hi-Fibre10

Hi-Fibre10 is a blend of 90% Hi-Fibre Feed and 10% Molasses.  It is a low FEI feed but still provides good levels of energy, crude protein, and soluble carbohydrates. The role of molasses in this blend is to improve palatability and reduce dust when feeding.

ONLY AVAILABLE at our Marsden Point blending store.

Feeding Recommendations

Hi-Fibre10 can be fed in PKE trailers, feed pad, or as a component of in-shed blends. It is a safe feed option, but if fed at high inclusion rates (more than 4kg DM per day), cows should be appropriately adapted to the feed.

Similar to Hi-Fibre Feed, Hi-Fibre10 can be fed up to 8kg/cow/day without exceeding current FEI levels.

Note: Consult your milk supply company for FEI guidelines

Description

The solvent extracted Palm Kernel Expeller in Hi-Fibre10 is a by-product of palm oil production, and the nutritional values can vary slightly during the season.

Nutritional Benefits

Hi-Fibre10 is ideally suited when higher levels of supplementary feed are required without significantly impacting FEI levels. The addition of molasses not only makes it very palatable, but significantly reduces dust in the shed.

The increased soluble sugar levels will assist rumen function and feed conversion. It is an excellent source of highly digestible fibre and provides higher levels of protein, which is normally performance-limiting during drought periods.

Hi-Fibre10 is GM-free.

Cattle Feed Storage on Farm

As with any grain or meal feed products need to be kept dry as moisture combined with heat can cause fungi to grow. Common on farm storage methods are: in a shed or unused fertiliser bin; in a covered pit; on a concrete pad; or in a cutting, covered with plastic sheet and tyres. Most feed should be used reasonably expediently (within 40 - 50 days). The longer you plan to store feed products the better your storage facilities need to be.
